In design, when concepts become creations that the world hasn’t seen before, then the job is well done. A young and upcoming firm is Penda and their goal is to create nothing that isn’t unique and thought out.
Penda was started in 2012 by Chris Precht and Dayong Sun. Every project that they undertake becomes a work of art that is “custom-made” for that individual project.
They specialize in architecture, interiors, industrial and installation. They have created residential spaces, commercial buildings, bridges and user entryways/gates that are structure-sculpture like.
Here is a list of projects with beautiful pictures that Penda has created:
One With Birds is an AIM ‘Legend of Tent’ competition entry that is a flexible and adaptable structure.
House O is a garden house for a famous Chinese wood artist in Beijing.
XiangYang is a hotel.
Vanke Salescenter is a business space.
Hongkong Art Storage is a fully foldable and secure art storage unit made of copper and concrete.
Living Leaves is a furniture line based on foliage.
Eckbank West is a fashionable pool bar.
Cola-Bow is a public art installation made of more than 17,000 recycled plastic bottles. This exhibit is to showcase a role against plastic pollution and turning trash to shelter.
Penda’s work is based on shapes, layers, beauty, monochromatic spaces, light, superb contemporary designs and unique creations.
